Application for Candidates – Lay Cistercians of Gethsemani Abbey

Membership is available only to those who live in the United States or Canada.

The Lay Cistercians of Gethsemani (LCG) is a community of believers who seek to follow Christ through the Gospels, under the guidance of the Rule of Benedict, and in communion with the monks of the Abbey of Our Lady of Gethsemani.

If you are interested in being considered for the two-year candidacy program towards becoming a committed member of the Lay Cistercians of Gethsemani Abbey, please note the following:

Members are expected to make a retreat at the Abbey of Gethsemani at least every 2 years.
Members cannot be a member of another lay associate organization, such as Benedictine oblate, Third Order Franciscan, or Carmelite, etc.
