Reflection: Fr. Michael Casagram – 12/12/25 “Be Not Afraid”
Luke 1:26-38, 39-47 for the feast of Our Lady
of Guadalupe.
When the angel appears to Mary and says: “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you,” she becomes greatly troubled and wonders what kind of greeting this is. I think there are moments in each of our lives when God’s word to us can be troubling. If we take it to prayer, we too will hear a voices saying to us: “Be not afraid!”
I find myself greatly troubled by what is going on between Ukraine and Russia but I know I must not become preoccupied with this to where I am distracted from my prayer. This but one instance of what can happen in any of our lives.
