Reflection: Fr. Michael Casagram – 2/24/26

+(Intro) As we will hear in our first reading this morning, God’s word fertilizes our hearts so that they may bear abundant fruit. So let take a moment to reflect on our failures to be fully open to God’s living word in our lives.

(After the gospel) Jesus giving us the Our Father invites us each day to trust in a this most tender and loving Father. This tenderness and love are to reign in our lives so that our earth may be filled with the knowledge of God.

But as I know and I think we all know how difficult it is at times to carry out God’s  design in our lives. Lent, it seems to me is especially helpful for us, especially as we do our Lenten reading, for hearing God’s word being spoken in the depths of our hearts. It is a word that enables us to become loving as we are loved.

Our Lectio divina or spiritual reading is designed to allow us to be ever more open to what our loving Lord is saying in our innermost hearts. When we hear it, there is no longer any need for many words in prayer for our inmost hearts are filled with a presence we seek about all else.
