+(Intro) In our first reading we will hear of our father Abrahm and how through faith he became the father of many nations. Let us take a moment to reflect on our sins and failings as persons called into an abiding faith.
(After the gospel) Jesus telling us that if we keep his words we will not see death gives us a fresh perspective on death which we all too easily connect with physical decline.
Jesus opens a whole new consciousness of life and death, one that is to be a sharing in God’s own life that is to be eternal. If we allow Christ’s words to permeate our lives, we will have passed already from death to life. Physical decline will only be an awakening.
