Reflection – Fr. Michael Casagram – 7/18/25 – God’s Love

+(Intro) We will hear from our gospel this morning, Jesus reminding the Pharisees that God desires mercy, not sacrifice. So let us be mindful of our sins, those times we have failed to trust in God’s merciful love

(After the gospel) God is well aware of our physical needs, of our hunger, our thirst, our emotional needs for love and care if we are to be God’s children.

Our first reading from Exodus, portraying the Passover ritual that foreshadowed the very Eucharist we celebrate is a beautiful reminded of how God is ever caring for our human and spiritual needs. Jesus giving us his very Body and Blood at this altar is a daily reminder of just how much desires to be involved in each of our daily lives.

We are destined to abide in this love and care and become manifestations of them to all those around us in our world today. Let us be filled with gratitude and realize the gift we have in God’s great mercy toward us.
