Reflection – Fr. Michael Casagram – 11/14/25 “God’s presence”

+(Intro) In our first reading this morning from the Book of Wisdom we will hear of how we are being given to know or discern the artisan from the good things given us. Let us then, take a moment to own any failures to se the Artisan of the good things given us each day…

(After the gospel) There is always the danger for us of getting caught up in our routines of eating drinking, buying, selling, planting and building in ways that distract us, or allow us to ignore God’s presence in our lives. Might this be why St Benedict warns us against ever forgetting the presence of God whatever we may be doing.

Each day we are being called to enter into Christ dying and rising to new life for as Jesus tells us “whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it for His sake will save it.

It is only in prayer that we strengthen this sense of God’s presence, that we know what God is really asking of us. By it we maintain an awareness of Christ’s daily call to new life. To do so is to encounter the living God and know already on earth what is to be given us for all eternity.
